Catherine J. ALSTON

She constantly sharpens her photographic skills to meet the demands of the ever-changing and never-ending school of life.
Studying photography at The Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia, Catherine studied various techniques of photography including film and digital applications. In addition to her studies at The Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, she matriculated at Georgia State University where she has received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism. Catherine also received a Certification in Paralegal Studies from, Clayton State University.
A professional photographer with more than 30-years of experience, Catherine’s creativity often lends itself to photographing individuals in unique environments. Her style is reflected in fine-art photography, floral photography, newborn photography, portraiture, event, documentary, commercial/studio photography and so much more.
Furery Terriy Reid
Furery has always dreamed of being a photographer, but her interests were so vast her mom could only do one at a time. So music ruled from elementary school through college, but still photography was still there.
Becoming a mentee of a local professional photographer, Furery learned photography and began to thrive. Capturing the true essence of the person is what she has always strived for when photographing individuals. “I love photographing people, so that they can see what they really look like through God’s eyes. Society has a way of making you look at yourself in a way not intended by God. Beauty is in His eyes and He allows me to hold the camera and click.”
Furery is also Executive Director of Sistagraphy, a collective of women of color photographers who come together to showcase their work at both local and national venues, and is currently celebrating their 30th year anniversary.
Isadora Pennington
Isadora Pennington is an arts journalist and photographer with the Atlanta Intown Newspaper and curator of Sketchbook, a weekly arts email. She is also the President of the Avondale Arts Alliance and Director of the newly opened Avondale Arts Center. A lifelong art lover, Isadora has devoted her life to supporting the arts and artists via her writing, curation, event coordination, and volunteer work with the Alliance.
